Writing Residencies
Coming Soon….
A space to write. Writing residencies, conversations and writing workshops in Bristol.
A nourishing place for conversation and exchange, but most of all for writing. Protected creative time to replenish your energy.
Oriol Rye provides both private space and connection. A two bedroom flat sits beneath a family home. You choose the level of interaction that you need. Two residential writing rooms come off from a communal kitchen, sitting room space used only for writers. Upstairs houses the family energy and your hosts — a writer, a winemaker and a five year old. We will find out your needs and pair your stay with another writer looking for a similar level of seclusion or community. Each room has its own desk and the communal space has a larger work table. There are tall, grass green windows with comfy window seats for reading, a wood burner and a view into the sweeping communal gardens of the crescent with its magnificent copper beach. The crescent was built in the mid 1800s. Think old sash windows and vaulted stone cellars. The courtyard, where Oriol Rye’s writing residencies are based has its own little outdoor space filled with jasmin.
